Our Story

Launched in 1993, AlloyTech was created as a marketing and information resource for the metals industry. Our initial offering was a fax on demand service where customers would use a printed catalog to find a report covering their area of interest, then pick up the phone, enter the report number which would then be delivered to their fax machine.....cutting edge stuff!

Our next offering was a series of floppy disks which, when loaded, installed our entire database of material properties and fabrication data, as well as the searchable inventory of every metals distributor and producer in North America. We still have a few sets of 3.5" floppies if anyone needs a copy...

In January of 1995, we launched Metal Suppliers Online, the first metals industry web directory. Over the next 25 years, we grew and refined the website and in 2021, the site was acquired by one of our largest customers.

Over the years, we worked with our clients to develop purchasing and buyout strategies to improve their profitability. Today, we offer you the benefit of that expertise. Whether you're a buyer/ purchasing agent for a machine shop, fabricator or OEM looking to reduce material costs......or a metals distributor looking to streamline your buyout process, we should talk.
